Trauma and Surgical Critical Care is a specialty involving the surgical treatment of patients with acute, life-threatening illness or injury.
OSF St. Francis Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center. Because of this, our trauma surgeons treat some of the most critically injured patients in our area. Experienced in dealing with high-pressure situations, our surgeons provide life-saving care for injured individuals. In addition to a wide range of treatments and procedures performed in the Trauma Center, patients receive in-hospital follow-up from our trauma/critical care team.
