Dr. Richard Anderson was selected by the UICOM-P Student Government Association to receive The Raymond B. Allen Instructorship Award (Golden Apple) for the Class of 2010. This is the third time he has received this honor.
The Golden Apple Award is a longstanding tradition in the College of Medicine. The college-level awards are given in the name of Dr. Raymond B. Allen, former dean of the college, by vote of the members of each class to teacher(s) who contributed most to the instruction of the class.
The students base on their decision on the following criteria: a superb role model because of his/her organization, knowledge, appropriate level and clarity of presentation, handouts, interest in topic and interest in students, among others.
The Golden Apple Award is the highest compliment extended by UICOM-P students any faculty member. Dr. Anderson was also given the Golden Apple in 2003 and 2008.
