Samir K. Gupta, MD

Education

Dr. Samir Gupta received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, and his doctorate in medicine from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Florida, Gainsville. Dr. Gupta completed his surgical residency and a fellowship in surgical critical care at Michigan State University, Butterworth Hospital and Spectrum Health Downtown Campus, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

An Accomplished Surgeon

Board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Gupta provides a range of general surgery services from the common hernia to the more urgent trauma and critical care. Using both open and minimally invasive techniques, he provides each patient with the most appropriate and compassionate care. He is currently the Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria.

Personal

Dr. Gupta and his wife, also a physician, live in Peoria with their three children.
