Dr. Steven Tsoraides earned his undergraduate degree at Loyola University Chicago with a major in biology and minor in history. He received both his doctorate of medicine (MD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP). He completed his Colorectal Surgery Residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. He completed his General Surgery Residency at UICOMP where he also served as Administrative Chief.
In addition to treating patients with General Surgery needs, Dr. Tsoraides was Fellowship trained in colon and rectal surgery at Southern Illinois University. He is well-published in the field including co-authoring a book chapter entitled Robotic Surgery of the Colon with PSG surgeon, Dr. David Crawford. He is now accepting new patients at Peoria Surgical Group’s offices in Illinois Medical Center located near UICOMP.
Many patients have left a mark on Dr. Tsoraides. Although these are too many to mention, as surgeons we are reminded that our most important teacher is the patient. Along with the other physicians at Peoria Surgical Group, Dr. Tsoraides places a great value on the trust our patients have in us.
Dr. Tsoraides has always called Illinois home and takes pride in befriending and caring for the good people of Central Illinois. He attends All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Peoria. Dr. Tsoraides actually grew up in an auto repair shop and has been working with his hands from a young age. Although his hands haven taken on different tasks over the years, he continues to enjoy the art and science of the profession which he has joined.
