Dr. Norman Estes received his medical degree from the University of Kansas. He received his residency training in general surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP), Dr. Estes is also the Director of the Surgery Residency Program. He has attended the Program for Chiefs of Clinical Services and the Advanced Program for Chiefs of Clinical Services at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston.
He has also served as Chief of Staff at the University of Kansas Medical Center for six years. Dr. has published more than 80 articles on surgical oncology and related topics. He holds memberships in numerous oncology and surgical societies, and is on the active staff at all three Peoria hospitals.
Dr. Estes and his wife Jan reside in Peoria and are the parents of one daughter and two sons. He is also an accomplished saxophone player.
