James R. DeBord, MD

Education

Dr. James DeBord attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he received his undergraduate degree. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He did both his internship and surgical residency at the University of Illinois Hospitals in Chicago.

An Accomplished Surgeon

Dr. DeBord is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery. He also has a Certificate of Special Qualifications in General Vascular Surgery from the American Board of Surgery. He holds memberships in various surgical and vascular societies.

He is on the staff of all three Peoria hospitals and is on the consulting staff at four hospitals in surrounding areas. Dr. DeBord is a Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP). At the 50th meeting of the Midwest Surgical Association, Dr. DeBord was elected president of the group.

Personal

Born in Chicago, Dr. DeBord was raised in Peoria and attended grade school and high school here. He and his wife Margaret reside in Peoria and have two sons and two daughters.
